Japanese To Digg 4.5 Miles Into Earth Surface

I am so proud of other countries and the way they pay for cool science. I think the record for digging is so far about 1.5 miles.

Related to that, we could have had a supercollider in Texas, but instead we got an expensive shallow hole. Luckily Europe built one in Switzerland,and they'll soon be making black holes!
