Super Size Me

I watched a really amazing independent film tonight. I didn't want to watch it, and didn't know anything about it, but thanks to Jen, I did. Super Size Me is really amazing. I can't say it enough. I was particularly amazed by one of the special features called "The Smoking Fry". Morgan Spurlock, the writer and main dude in the film, put a bunch of McDonald's burgers in beakers and also some fries. It took weeks for the burgers to mold due to all the preservatives. After like two and a half months, the fries still showed no sign of mold. They looked like they were bought today. I swear. Anyone that hasn't seen this should watch it. I don't say that because I have an agenda or anything, but because Morgan shows it all as it happens and you will be amazed at what you see. Just watch it.

The official film website is http://www.supersizeme.com/ and Morgan's blog is at http://blogs.indiewire.com/morganspurlock/

Kudos Morgan. I'm glad your still alive. 8-]

I really liked that film too. I understand how terrible fast food is, but I can't deny that it made me want to eat McDonalds.

Dogs and vultures eat rotten carcasses, which would kill us. Things that seem bad to eat may not be and vice versa. It seems bad that we should eat so many preservatives, but I'm not so sure it's bad. I only know of nitrates (or is it nitrites?) being a cause of esophageal squamous cell cancer where smoked foods are popular (e.g., mainly smoked fish).
